On Tuesday, April 4th Kate Liggins, Private Duty Manager, and Diane Scott, full time Certified Nursing Assistant, attended a forum honoring the 164 direct care workers that were nominated by their organization as the 2017 Pennsylvania Direct Care Worker of the Year Award. All nominees were invited to the Forum today, all expenses paid, for lunch, training and the presentation of the award by Secretary of Aging Teresa Osborne.
This unique event, which is sponsored by the Department of Aging, PHA, and Preferred Benefit Consultants, featured lunch and training and ended with the surprise announcement of direct care worker of the year. Guest speakers included Leigh Weintraub, an innovative pioneer in the world of personal transformation and moving people toward their peak performance and also Terrell Cannon, Director of Workforce Development, Home Care Associates who presented on professionalism, ethics and boundaries. Diane Scott was Deer Meadows Home Health and Support Services nominee. Diane has been working for Deer Meadows Home Health Support Services since 2009 and has played a huge role in the success here at deer meadows. Diane's provides top notch care to each patient she comes into contact with and although Diane was not chosen as 2017 Pennsylvania Direct Care Worker of the Year Award, Diane will always be a superior provider of care to her patients and will continue to do so as she grows with Deer Meadows Home Health Support Services.
